How do I fix Bluetooth connection issues with AirPods and Apple Watch on iPhone?

randomly my airpods disconnected and i tried to reconnect them but it said "connection unsuccessful." I originally thought it was something with my airpods but i realized my apple watch also disconnected in the same way. so ive tried to do all of the troubleshooting things for bluetooth and some of them either didnt work or made them work momentarily but they would cut off again after about 30 seconds. ive reset my network and factory reset my airpods to see if it would work but it hasnt. is going to a repair shop my only option?

before it is repaired, if it is, you would have to back it up and reset to factory (erase)

I recommend you backup, erase the phone, and set up the phone as new, ie do not restore the backup, then test out the connections. If it works then some software is killing the bluetooth (security software is typical culprit)

Depending on the results either keep it that way and manually restore apps, or erase again and restore the backup, or erase again and send it for repair. Make this decision before the daily backup cycle starts again.

it is much easier if you have already used iCloud for everything
