How to reduce mediaanalysisd cache size on MacBook Air?

I've deleted applications, I run Time Machine, occasionally I offload documents to another computer, but it's the Ever Expanding Disk going on here (and I don't use it for TV or Music, and just a few podcasts, <1 Gb). I am in Safe Mode right now to get the housekeeping scripts to clear out stuff, but my Container for MediaanalysisD is HUGE (ridiculously so, it's half the User/me/Library size) and I want to know what I can do to reduce it. This is the largest problem I have; I do have a backup of my iPad on this MacBook that's 41 Gb as well, and so I'm thinking if I can't fix this, I'll just not keep a backup of the iPad.

There are a whole Host of files used by this specific process " mediaanalysisd "

Some of them are listed below

In my Setup, the two dominate processes are Photos  and Visual Intelligence which Apple Intelligence is analyzing all my pictures

ie Clean up in Photos

Contacts, not so much as there are seldom many changes in Contacts

You made delete this folder in order to reduce space that is used

Depending on factors, this folder maybe recreated again and continue to grow

Hopefully, grow but not as big as it is now but it may grown just the same

/Users/xxx/Pictures/Photos Library.photoslibrary/private/com.apple.mediaanalysisd/MediaAnalysis/mediaanalysis.db-shm

/System/Library/Video/Plug-Ins/VCPHEVC.bundle/Contents/Resources/InfoPlist.loctable

/System/Library/Address Book Plug-Ins/LDAP.sourcebundle/Contents/Resources/InfoPlist.loctable

/System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/VisualIntelligence.framework/Versions/A/Resources/Localizable.loctable

This is helpful because I actually don't use Photos on my Macbook (heavily on my Phone and iPad, but not at all on the MacBook, because I have come up with a great process for keeping my photos and image files).

The directory that is that big is: /Users/me/Library/Containers/com.apple.mediaanalysisd/Data/Library/Caches/com.apple.mediaanalysisd/com.apple.e5rt.e5bundlecache/24E263/

which then contains 310 items that are 68.2 MB each, with hash names like

Yes, you're correct, only I never open Photos on my Mac and keep an eye on its size for any spurious syncing. Every once in a while, a small version of Photos lands in my Trash.

An update: I have deleted the 21 Gb folder and restarted my Mac; I now have 30 Gb free on my hard drive (whew) and no deleterious effects so far…

It sounds like the MediaanalysisD cache is taking up a lot of space. You can try deleting the cache files related to MediaanalysisD to free up some space. Just be cautious when deleting system files and consider seeking help from a professional if needed.

Try going the extra mile and providing additional information on how this is done  and why it is necessary ?

OP may find this idea really helpful ?

Just saying

The above kind of implies

The computer is not using Photos in iCloud on both the computer and iPhone ?

I ask, as using Photos in iCloud on one device (iPhone) would by nature, be also on iCloud and would Sync back to the computer

Meaning, the photo on the iPhone would be, yes in iCloud , and could also be on the computer ?
