Magic Mouse is not scrolling on MacBook Air

I just bought this magic mouse at the Apple store. It is connected, pointer moves just fine and settings are the same with my older mouse. The problem is, it is not scrolling. What could be the cause of this? Is it because the magic mouse is not compatible to my older MacBook Air? The version is updated, so why is it doing this?

The current Magic Mouse is compatible with macOS 15.1 and later. There is a scrolling issue with earlier macOS versions.

A 2020 or later MacBook Pro can be upgraded to the current version of Sequoia macOS 15. See: How to upgrade to macOS Sequoia - Apple Support
