How to switch my iMessage side panel back to what it looked like before?

So originally my iMessage left side panel showed the names and some of the message with the time. I must have did something and now it just shows the contact photo on the left side with no details or anything. I can't figure out how to turn it back. I went through all the settings and searched online. I can't find anything.
