I am trying to add eSIM to my iPhone 12 after updating it to iOS 12 but I can’t find add eSIM button anywhere in settings

it should be in settings->mobile service

though if the iphone is the dual physical sim version sold in china, it does not support eSim at all

I guess you meant iOS 18.
