How to resolve wrong WhatsApp sender name issue on iPhone?

I signed up for WhatsApp on my iPhone 15 this morning. When I sent a test message to my daughter, she said that WhatsApp indicated that my message had come from my wife. How could that happen when my wife doesn't have a WhatsApp account AND she and I have our own Apple IDs?

In Whatsapp app, tap the Settings gearwheel. What name shows? If it is your name then have your daughter check her contacts against that number.
