iPadOS 17.7.7 update has really caused issues to my iPad Pro

This update has really caused issues to my iPad Pro 10.5 inch. Some apps have lost all state every time they are reopened, and revert back to their initial initialisation screens. Programs like procreate show their example artworks. Some games have lost all progress, and apps like YouTube ask me to log in each time.

I have tried a full reset / restore, to no avail, but that added a new issue which now once a day I am asked to log in with my password rather than Touch ID as "I have recently changed my password". I downgraded to 17.7.6 to find the restore for the iPad does not work, so had to reinstall 17.7.7 before restoring.

Any help would be much appreciated!

Thank you StephC74

I tried your suggestion about 4-5 hours ago, and so far it is looking positive, not had anything reset itself or boot me out yet.

I can't pretend I understand why or how it works, but it does appear to have worked for me, the morning will confirm or otherwise

"Restart iPad using the top button and either of the volume buttons. Slide to power off and then wait 30 seconds before powering on.

Toggle your iCloud settings. Settings, tap your name, icloud

Temporarily disable iCloud drive and iCloud keychain

Restart your device and then re-enable iCloud Drive and iCloud Keychain.

This fix should be moved to the very top! I had previously downloaded & trusted the following 2 trust certificates from Apple PKI - Apple :

Apple Root CA - G2 Root

Apple Root CA - G3 Root

After doing this, which I found on a previous thread, I restarted my iPad, but I was still have the same issues (most apps would not connect to wifi). Apparently this fix had fixed this issue for several people with the same issue we are all having. I actually stopped trying to fix mine for the night & decided to try again today. I came across this comment/fix & decided to give it a try.. because why not, I’d done everything else & was exhausted, mad, frustrated, etc. After doing what StephC74 suggested everything was finally working again! THANK YOU!!! I don’t know if it was a combination of downloading/trusting the 2 trust certificates, then temporarily disabling iCloud Drive & iCloud Keychain, restarting iPad & enabling iCloud Drive & iCloud Keychain, but my iPad is working again! I can now access all apps, was able to add my email account back no issues, anything I search in Google or Safari downloads correctly now, etc. I hope people see her comment & this comment so they are able to get their iPad working again! I know I’ve found that any issues I have can usually be resolved in these threads, not by Apple Support sadly. I’m beyond frustrated that every time they roll out an update it causes so much trouble! I actually accepted the new iCloud terms & conditions on my phone a couple of months ago, but wish I never had. It deleted my notes & caused a ton of chaos that I still haven’t been able to fix. Good luck everyone! ☺️

Thank you for the tip. Tried to report the bug via your link but I can’t complete the feedback list as OS 17.7.7 is not in the list of operating systems 😮

If iPadOS 17.7.7 is not yet listed, choose the nearest from the available options (iPadOS 17.7.6?).

When submitting your Bug Report, please ensure that you include details of your iPad model and installed version of iPadOS within the body-text of your report along with details of the problem. Do not rely upon the pick-list - as this rarely includes the current version of iPadOS.

Yo he conseguido volver a la versión anterior 17.7.6 de iPadOS. Se puede bajar de este enlace:

https://ipsw.me/

17.7.8 downloaded and installed.

I had to re-register to use my banking app and my EDF Energy app; DuckDuckGo no longer asks me to choose a default browser; my various weather apps remember where I live!

My Sudoku scores (going back years!) have all disappeared and I've had to reset the display and layout to my preferred settings. I have closed and reopened the app and all is well!

That was a nasty experience and I have disabled the update "auto -install" on all my Apple devices. In future, I'll wait a few days before downloading and installing.
