Issues printing in color on MacBook Air that is on latest macOS

I'm using a MacbookAir, 2024, with latest OS update. Using an HP 6000 printer. I tried to print from an Excel workbook with columns in color, but the print preview is in grays. I don't see an option to choose black/color in the dialogue. I have not had this issue in the past. The same issue occurs when I try to print from PDFgear

Hey there!

If you're seeing a black and white print preview across multiple apps, it sounds like your Mac doesn't recognize that your printer is a color printer. To check, open System Settings, then scroll down to printers & scanners, choose your printer, then choose printer queue.

This opens the Print Center app. Alternatively, you can open Print Center from Launchpad or Finder > Go > Utilities.

In Print Center, choose your printer in the left sidebar, then choose Printer > print test page.

See if the test page prints in color. If it does, then there might be an application printing issue. But if it doesn't print in color, I'd suggest you reset the printing system on your Mac, then add the printer again.

Let us know the results.

Hope this helps!
