AirPods Pro not producing sound on Mac being connected to Bluetooth

Bluetooth connected. Output shows AirPods as the output device but no sound from the Mac when playing Music. I've powered down my iPad and iPhone as well, just to make sure there isn't any confusion. Still nothing. Dang!

Airpod Pros won't connect to Macbook Pro I am having trouble connecting my brand new Airpod Pros to my Macbook Pro (Version 11.7.4). My Airpods connect to my iPhone 12 just fine, but my Macbook never seems to be able to connect to anything with Bluetooth, even other speakers. It is showing up in my devies, but it only connects when both of my Airpods are in the case, and then when I put them on, they disconnect automatically. Or in the rare moments that they do connect, it only plays the sound for like a second and then there is no sound, or the sound is extremely choppy and then it cuts out, even though they are "connected." What is the problem, and how can I fix this?

airpods max show as connected however the sound is still coming out of the speakers in the system settings my Airpod max show as connected but sounds still comes out of the speakers of my Mac

Have you tried in the music app, by the loudspeaker icon, to select the AirPods as output device there as well? That was the mistake I made when I used my AirPods Max for a video conference earlier today
