My daughter's iPad storage is pretty much full. The system recommended deleting large attachments from the messages app so she did that. It is still showing GBs worth of attachments, yet when you view large attachments nothing is there to delete. I just did an update hoping it would resolve but we get the same result. This is all being done from the storage settings.
Any other ideas?

That may have simply moved the attachments to “Recently Deleted”.
Open the Messages app. Tap “Edit” in the upper left followed by “Show Recently Deleted”. Take appropriate action there.
