How to revert preferences modifed in xml during ios 13.X

preferences were modifed while the phone was ios 13.X and now because it’s updated past that version, those changed values seem to still be in effect even after doing a dfu restore on ios18.

what are the options for this rare software problem?

I ask this specific question, because with all the harassment i get that I think the answer that will be provided will be along these lines instead of one that will actually fix the problem.
