Just to clarify, AirTags actually show up in Find My, not Find My Friends (which Apple merged into Find My a while back). The orange question mark in a circle on your AirTags usually means there’s a sharing or ownership conflict, or that the Find My network is having trouble confirming your access to those items.

What’s likely happening is when you added another person to your Find My (via location sharing or Family Sharing), the system may be temporarily confused about who owns the AirTags or who is supposed to be able to track them. It might interpret this as a potential security issue, especially if the AirTags are tied only to your Apple ID and now you’re trying to share locations or data more broadly.

If you recently added someone via Family Sharing, make sure they haven’t also enabled tracking or tried to "claim" the tags—AirTags can only belong to one Apple Account, and that person controls the tracking. If they tried to access them, it could cause that orange question mark warning.
