Air Tag mysteriously deleting itself from my list

As it says. My apple air tags are paired and working, then eventually within a few days just disappear from my account and are no longer able to be found. This has happened now for 7 of my devices. All are on my fleet vehicles, which isn't an issue for myself, company, or drivers. But somehow they keep disappearing. Even the personal devices on my own vehicles are unpairing for no reason.

AFAIK, Apple AirTags do not disassociate from an Apple ID without human intervention. That is, either the same iPhone or iPad, used to pair them initially, would be required to unpair them. Just resetting them won't do it.

It is highly unlikely that all of these tags would unpair themselves randomly. There must be something else going on that is causing this. I am assuming that you still have possession of all of these tags ... correct?

Are you using your personal iPhone to pair with them? ... or using a company iPhone to do so? If the latter, do you "own" the Apple ID that is being used with this phone?

So my MA in Cyber Security gives me a little bit of an advantage. Along with 15 years of federal security intelligence work. Then again, the Ph.D in Homeland security, military SIGINT certs, along with a few other civilian certs that go along with the various fields I've worked in. The vehicles are owned by me. The ex military/contractors and employees all of which know that under no circumstances are they to mess with the tags. It's called Security clearance work for a reason and they don't have the luxury of being dishonest about it. As, again, it's happened with my personal vehicles as well.

It is possible for it to disconnect on its own. Saying it can't happen, doesn't mean it won't. Because it obviously did.

I own the company, thus it's mine. Personal phone, personal Airtag, and yes ... I "own" the device and apple id. Obviously. All of which, I own, I have the rights to, and I manage. Doesn't happen on other similar "airtag devices", just the Apple products.

But yet, It happened. Not only to me, but many other people as it seems. As there are many others having the same issues.
