Macbook screen goes to sleep unexpectedly

I have a 2023 MacBook Pro and its screen shuts off unexpectedly every one minute or so. Every time I need to click the spacebar to wake it up and it's super annoying. Could this be a software or a hardware issue? How do I fix this?

Macbook Randomly Shuts Down Hi. I have a problem with my MacBook 16" 2019. The screen would randomly go dark like it's sleep. I engage with the trackpad and the keyboard when the display goes dark. I have to close the lid, wait about a minute, and then open it again. This is inconvenient especially when I have to do some serious work. Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks, Mark

New 2023 Macbook, Pro M2 Max Slow to wake I have a brand new MacBook Pro M2 Max and it's great, except when I open close it and it goes to sleep. Then I open it again and it can take 40 to 60 seconds for the screen turn back on. The keyboard lights up right away and I try hit the track pad and spacebar multiple times but it doesn't help. The Mac takes forever to wake up and get going. Any ideas ?

settings > lock screen

holds settings for:

turn display off when inactive for nnn minutes

as well as Lock Screen and screensaver start time settings
