There are no batteries in the built in keyboard of a laptop.
What, exactly, are you seeing?
Current Apple EXTERNAL wireless keyboards are charged from a USB port on your computer to a Lightning or USB-C port in the back panel of the board.
Minor addition to the explanations given, from personal experience. If you have ever used an external keyboard with Bluetooth, it will remain attached, even if you no longer use it. It may be worth identifying it (as here, by using the Bluetooth icon in the menu bar):
