How to deregister iMessage for my email, not for my phone number?

I switched away from Apple devices. After I did that, I already deregistered my phone number at selfsolve.apple.com/deregister-imessage. Now, when people on iPhone message my phone number, it comes to me as MSM/MMS/RCS and not iMessage. That is good.

The issue is that some people are messaging to my email address through iMessage. This sends an iMessage to my apple account, which I cannot view because I don't own Apple devices. How can I deregister my email address from iMessage such that people cannot send an iMessage to my email address? (I am NOT asking about deregistering my phone number, which I already have done, as mentioned previously.)

So as you should know no one here works for Apple and Apple Support does not monitor these user-to-user forums. We are all just fellow users like yourself and have no access to your account information. So you might want to reach out to Apple Support and open a ticket. Click the Support link at the top right of this page next to the search magnifying glass. Or call Apple Support. Hopefully, while you no longer have any Apple device, you still remember your Apple ID and password and you will need them to open a ticket.

My friend had my email and phone number saved in the contact card on his Apple device. When he went to message me, the Apple device defaulted to sending an iMessage to the email, instead of sending an SMS/MMS/RCS to the phone number. I had that one friend delete my email from his contact card and it resolved the issue. But many others continue to message my email via iMessage, which I cannot receive. I want to solve this for all my contacts. Seems very unethical for Apple to stop sending me messages from my friends for switching away from their devices.
