The current Magic Mouse requires maxOS 15.1 or later. There are scrolling and other issues when used with earlier macOS versions.

See the following from Magic Mouse (USB‑C) - White Multi-Touch Surface - Apple

System Requirements

Mac with macOS 15.1 or later

iPad with iPadOS 18.1 or later

A 2019 or later iMac can be upgraded to the current version of Sequoia macOS 15. See: How to upgrade to macOS Sequoia - Apple Support
