iPhone does not show iPad in the Find My app

My new 11th gen ipad shows my iPhone in Find My app, but iphone does not show ipad in the Find My app, and does not let me add it. Running iOS 18.5. Any suggestions?

Have you enabled Find My iPad from iPad settings?

Settings > [Your Name / Apple Account] > Find My > Find My iPad > Find My iPad - set to ON
