How can I reset my MacBook Air without knowing the password or Apple ID?

About a year ago, I bought my wife a MacBook Air, Model A2179, which she hasn’t used in some time. Recently, I decided to use it. Unfortunately, my wife has forgotten all her information, like passcode, Apple ID and password. I have a lot of experience with Windows and thought I could try and fix it. I have no experience with Apple products. I went into recovery and did an erase, but it still asks for her information. I tried tried again and got the 2005F error code. Does anyone have any information or can give me any instruction to fix this? I really need help!

The MacBook is activation locked, and because of the reason of activation lock, it is a theft deterrent system, this is not easily fixable.

If you have valid proof of purchase information you can start an Activation Lock support request.
