How do I stop battery drain on my iPhone 16 Pro, and could it be hacked?

I feel like my phone has been hacked, but I'm not sure. My battery has been draining fast, I charged my phone 3 hours ago and it was was full but now its at 65. How would I know my phone has been hacked?

I can guarantee your phone has not been hacked, unless you jailbroke it. And even then it would be unlikely. And real hackers don’t leave any footprint that they have invaded a device; that would defeat the purpose of hacking it.

What have you been using it for over the past 3 hours? Is this a first occurrence of this issue?

But first: Do you have a 3rd party VPN installed, even if you are not using it? If so, delete the VPN profile in Settings/General/VPN & Device Management/VPN. Don't just turn it off; delete the profile.

Post a screenshot of your Battery usage at Settings > Battery for the app in the last 24 hour period. After you identify the app, you can remove it and compare the results. Apps such as TikTok and even Facebook are updated much more frequently than iOS updates, and you may find an update that has a negative effect on battery performance. Many of those apps also use Background Processes that will consume your battery even when you are not using the app. Those will also be noted in your Battery Settings.

No, your iPhone has not been hacked.

Tiktok is a very heavy energy user, both because it is video, and because it uses a lot of data to transfer that video to your iPhone. Were you using cellular data or Wi-Fi? Cellular data requires up to 10 times as much energy as Wi-Fi, depending on signal strength.

And swiping off all apps used actually increases energy consumption. Apps on the App Switcher screen are not running; they are suspended, but ready to run when you want them. If you swipe them off they are no longer ready to run; they must be reloaded from storage to RAM, which uses more energy than leaving them idle. Here is more information on this subject→Do not close "background" apps | Communities. Note that it usually does no harm (unless the app had recent data that had not been saved to storage), but offers no benefit, either.
