Why are unauthorized activities happening when I switch to the iPhone 16 Pro?

Has anyone else experienced Hacking when upgrading to I16 pro phones. Within days of upgrading my 13 to a 16, my Email accounts were hacked. My wife upgraded from a 14 to a 16pro max on the same day and was also hacked and had unauthorized credit cards opened in her name. she keeps more account info stored in hers. This doesn't sound like a coincidence.

All of which can be explained by a compromised password.

Two-factor authentication reduces the risks to an Apple Account, but password reuse increases the potential damage for other accounts where the password was both re-used and lacking two-factor authentication.

And a trusted device out of your control with a compromised password bypasses all.

iPhone iOS exploits are possible too, but those are targeted and immensely valuable, while compromised passwords are an easier explanation.

When you and your wife set up your new phones – did you do that yourselves?

Or did you disclose your account names and passwords to some third party to "set the phones up for you"? If you gave away your passwords, that would be like giving away your house keys – if the person to whom you gave the keys then used that access for bad purposes, no "hacking" would be involved or required.

there are fewer coincidences in the world then you think. if it was just one of us then i would say yes. both of us, no way. she has card info on hers so they applied for a card in her name. I don’t have card info on mine so instead they hacked my email account and tried to blackmail me for $500 in bit coin or they would release my browser history. they had my email account and web mail password. since i didn’t care who saw me looking for parts i didn’t give them anything, but i did call apple and have them go through my phone and then changed my account and password
