Why is Apple charging for a canceled My Maps subscription?

Dear Sir or Madam,

My wife accidentally confirmed a subscription for the My.maps application in the amount of €49.99, and the card was charged accordingly. We paid the amount and immediately canceled the subscription. The subscription was initiated on April 28, 2025.

After the cancellation, we received a notice stating that the subscription would remain active until April 28, 2026. Since my wife has my credit card linked to her profile, I received a notification today stating that the card will be charged again tomorrow in the amount of €49.99 for the same application.

I have blocked the payment. I would like to understand why you intend to charge the amount of €49.99 again for the My.maps application, considering that an annual subscription was already paid and canceled for the following period.

Please let us know what actions we can take regarding this matter.

Kind regards,

Uroš

  1. This is a user to user forum. You are not addressing Apple here, and we users, much like yourself, are not intending to charge you, nor do we know why Apple is charging you of the even are.
  2. How did you cancel said subscription? What steps did you follow exactly?
  3. Who is sending this notification? Apple or the actual app or app website?
  4. Was the free trial set to renew less than 24 hours before you cancelled it? If so, Apple advises it may still process the charge, though the subscription may still be cancelled. You would need to contact Apple Support to request a refund. click here ➜ https://getsupport.apple.com
  5. You can verify your charges at the following website. https://reportaproblem.apple.com
  6. If the charge is being applied by the developer or app company instead of Apple, then the subscription was activated directly with them, and Apple would nothing to with it.

1.When we installed the app, we had a 7-day free trial. After that period, we were charged for the subscription, and we paid for the highest-tier PRO subscription. It was also clearly stated that the amount was for an annual subscription.

2.We canceled the subscription by going into our phone settings under "Subscriptions," locating the app, and then canceling the subscription there. The phone still shows the subscription as canceled, yet we are still being notified of a new charge attempt.

3.I recived notification on my bank, that Apple will charge my accountI

4.As mentioned, we had a 7-day trial period. After that, Apple charged our card. The membership was annual, and the card was charged on April 28, 2025 – our mistake, and we paid the amount. However, it was an annual subscription, which we canceled. I don’t understand why Apple is now attempting to charge the card again tomorrow, on May 28, 2025 for same aplication.

5.OK

6.The charge is being made by Apple, not by the developer.
