I tried copying and pasting my serial number, but it wouldn't paste - I was checking on a battery recall on my 2016 Macbook Pro, and I'm not sure if I entered the correct number or not. Thanks!

Apple does not use Letter O for this reason in their Serial Numbers

No 2016 models have ever qualified for that program.
the earliest-introduced MacBook Pro from 2016 is referred to as "late 2106" model, and sources suggest it was introduced October 2016
The 2015 model was available until then.
The documents for the recall you reference has a field that suggest it is STRONGLY formatted to accept only a certain range of serial numbers, and you will not be able to paste a serial number outside the selected range.
it also contains this:
Confirm your model is "MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Mid 2015)."

if you need a battery, I recommend you hurry up and pay the historically US$250 to obtain one soon. The batteries for 2015 models show as discontinued for ordinary service.

2016 sounds way past any recall that once might have been active?
This is what I saw first and the reason I was checking on it: Apple has determined that, in a limited number of older generation
15-inch MacBook Pro units, the battery may overheat and pose a fire
safety risk. Affected units were sold primarily between September 2015
and February 2017 and product eligibility is determined by the product
serial number.
The article I saw did not say only those made in 2015 - it said "sold 9/15-2/17" and since I bought mine in 2016, I thought it was reasonable to check. Since mine is not a 2015, I guess it doesn't qualify.
I don't need a new battery. I was only checking because I had a Macbook Pro once that overheated, expanded, and pushed the battery cover off. It was turned off and unplugged, and we were out of town. It turned out it was defective and they gave me a new one. Just glad it didn't catch anything else on fire.
I would still like an answer to my original question which was: are those zeroes or Os? If I have to enter it somewhere else, it would be nice to know. Many manufactures don't use either because it is so confusing - or they only use one or the other. It was a long shot that anyone would know, but that was my question. Thank you for responding.

Why did the Moderator re-title my question? Looks like they also took out the part about " are they zeroes or the letter O:"? I have never had anyone change by question before. This caused me to get responses about recalls instead of serial number which was my main concern - I would simply like to know what my serial number is for future reference. Many manufacturers use either zeroes or the letter O but not both or avoid the confusion altogether and don't use either. If nobody knows, no big deal. I don't need any more responses. Please don't change what I write in the future.
