Hey Apple Team

You have posted to a user-to-user site. We are all users here.....just like you. Apple is not here. They do not get involved with lost or stolen phones, so they will not see your post or reply......but we will try to help.

In order to track the phone using Find My, the phone must have a good Internet connection where it is located. This means that.....

  • The battery is charged
  • The phone is powered on
  • The phone has a good Internet connection

In some cases, the phone can report on its location....even if it has been powered off....IF....there is another iPhone in very close proximity to your iPhone and battery is still charged.

You should not provide personal information like the IMEI, your phone number or email. We have asked the forum hosts to remove this information for your protection.......so you will not receive junk email and spam calls.

If you log on using Find My.......what is the message that you see?

No location found?

Offline?

Something other message?

If is has been more than a week or so and the phone has never appeared, I am sorry but you will have to be realistic about your chances. There is almost no chance that the phone will ever be located.

You say "this phone is snatched from me" – which means that it is not just lost, but stolen. Even if you do see a location, it would be unwise to travel there in person, with the intent of confronting criminals yourself. You might lose a lot more than just a phone.

If you were using Find My, you can frustrate the thieves by keeping the phone Activation Locked so they cannot simply reset it and "make your phone their own". Whether or not you were using Find My, you can report the theft to the police and your phone company (carrier). If your carrier blacklists, the phone, no carrier which honors the blacklist will ever provide cellular service to that phone again.

Note that the thieves or fences may send messages to you, pretending to be "Apple" or the "Police", in an attempt to trick you into disclosing your credentials or removing your phone from your list of devices. Do not reply to such messages.
