Why isn't my MacBook Air M2 detecting my external display anymore?

I have a MacBook Air M2 with the latest macOS, and it just now stopped detecting my monitor. The port on the MacBook is fine and working (I tested it by charging my mouse), and the cable itself (usb-c to display port) is also working fine (tested it by connecting my iPhone 16 to my monitor). Hence, I am pretty sure that the problem is with my MacBook no longer detecting my monitor.

Would anyone know the reason behind this sudden issue?

You can start by restarting both the Mac and the monitor. Shut down the Mac completely, unplug the monitor from power for about 10 seconds, then power everything back on and reconnect. If that doesn’t work, go to System Settings > Displays, hold the Option key, and click the Detect Displays button. Sometimes macOS just needs a manual nudge.
