Unable to use CarPlay after iOS 18.5 update

Im sorted, after more googling, I realised I probably didn’t have a data/charging cable in my car which is necessary for setting up. I used one that I knew was a data one and it worked straight away.

Sorry, I thought I had included everything, then have missed the one important thing. It’s cable set up and the usb port and the cable worked on my android (but it’s too old), the cables is one of those with three methods. I’ve also used normal single type apple ones. I’ve no vpn on phone, I’ve done the airplane on off, reset networks both car and phone have latest update, I’ve removed vocal shortcut, removed car from blue tooth and retried several times. Thank you for your reply. I really hope you can help, but please bear in mind I’m 80 shortly, I’m fairly savvy, and can follow instructions but I sometimes have to google jargon.
