Weird screenshotting bug across multiple versions

I’ve been dealing with this bug for years across three phones, the 11 pro, 14 pro and 16 pro. (2022-now) Basically when I screenshot something sometimes it doesnt show me the screenshot editor, but it will screenshot, and you hear the click, and then on the second screenshot it will show the editor. Highly annoying, honestly not looking for a fix, just to see other people are dealing with this as well and im not crazy, because im dumbfounded it’s followed me through two phones. I could understand maybe my 11 pro was just buggy. But this is crazy

When you take a screenshot on an iPhone, a thumbnail preview appears briefly in the bottom-left corner of the screen. This thumbnail gives you quick access to the editing interface: tap it before it disappears, and you’re taken to a markup and editing screen where you can crop, annotate, or delete the screenshot right away.

If you ignore or miss the thumbnail (or it vanishes after a few seconds), you haven’t lost your chance to edit — far from it. The screenshot is automatically saved to the Screenshots album in the Photos app. There, you can open it and tap Edit to access virtually all the same tools: cropping, rotating, filters, brightness adjustments, and markup via the three-dot menu and Markup tool.

So while the floating thumbnail offers a quick, in-the-moment editing shortcut, it’s not your only shot. Editing later in the Photos app gives you the same power — just without the ticking clock.

In short: if you miss the thumbnail, don’t panic — your editing window hasn’t closed; it’s just moved to your Photos app and is available whenever you're ready.
