How can I open a horizontal split screen on my iMac?
I want to open 2 screens horizontally, not side by side. How do I do it?

Hover the cursor over the green grow button of an app window and click the top or bottom icon. do the same for a second app.
FWIW, there are third-party apps such as Rectangle Pro and Magnet that may allow you to do what you want.
I just installed Magnet from the App Store and it will split apps that don't normally allow it. So it may work with MS Word.
I don't know what to tell you. I get the same window on every Mac I have running Sequoia. You only get left and right in Ventura and possibly in Sonoma.
What I can say is not all apps support anything but a left and right split. Some don't support splitting at all.
Just updated; my imac although on auto updates, does not auto update. Here is my picture, but it is not like yours. And I took a photo of a screenshot, and I can't rotate it. But u will be able to see the view options of left and right only. Can I ask what you think?
Just to add, you should update to Sequoia 15.5 if you haven't already.
My new iMac will only show left and right split over the green spot. I see your picture but mine does not show a horizontal option.
I think you are using Microsoft Word and since I don't have it installed I can't say if it allows vertical split screens.
