How to resolve iPhone messages indexing errors on iPhone 14?

ive Been unable to search through old messages since an update in February, (3/4 months ago)

I get the response ‘more results will be shown once messages finishes indexing’

I ignored the issue for a while but now I need to search for something so have tried a few fixes…

I’ve upgraded my iCloud storage to 200gb, I’ve backed up the phone, and I’ve synced the messages, and I’ve also restarted the phone, none of which worked.

the messages are clearly still there as they’re taking up 33gb but I just can’t search them….?

any advice welcomed and appreciated thank you
