Physical SIM and e-SIM not working on my iPhone 15 Pro after iOS 18.5 update

after i updated to 18.5 my physical sim and e sim both are not working, physical sim showing no service and e-sim shows invalid , is there any solutions

No one asserted that it was — or wasn’t — “related” to the update.


However, carriers DO have developer teams who work to ensure the continued functionality of their own various on-device carrier apps in advance each iOS update’s roll-out.


These updates are normally pushed out immediately after your iOS update

completes; with the screen briefly displaying “Carrier Update in Progress”.


As with most such things, sometimes technical glitches prevents these updates from being automatically pushed out; or from being properly applied on the phone.


Sometimes the developers — being human — might have simply overlooked a particular aspect of the update.


Regardless of the cause, resolution requires reporting to, and working with the carrier to resolve.

No, it is not a problem with the carrier. It is clearly a bug or bad software update process on IOS.

I have the exact same issue on my wife´s pro. It stopped working EXACTLY after the upgrade, so there is not change to be a problem with the carrier.

Even because I have NOS, Vodafone and ClaroBR sims. None of them work with the iPhone after updating.

So you are completely wrong. it is not a carrier problem.

I know how this works, that is why I´m asserting it is not a carrier issue.


To fix a problem, it is important to drive the focus to the most probable cause of issue.


I have three different sims, one from Italy (e-sim), one from Portugal (e-sim) and one from Brazil (physical).


None of the sims works after the update, so it is not a problem with the carrier. Something on this update is crashing the phone.


And if you google regarding this issue, you'll find some similar cases, with the exactly same behavior, all related to this symptom:


  • Can´t remove e~sim
  • Can´t add new sims
  • IP does not recognize the physical SIM

I have two iPhone 13 Pro and one iPhone 12, all three have the same problem after updating to iOS 18.5, it does not read the SIM card, before this they worked perfectly, it already performs network and cell phone restoration, I tried with esim, also reinstalling the software but nothing works, the operator does not have any updates and also the SIM does work on another Samsung device, I took one of the 13 Pro to technical service 2 months ago and they still have not returned it to me because they do not detect the hardware failure. any solution? is it possible to downgrade iOS?
