Double login prompt for Apple Communities

For weeks now, whenever I log in here, it asks me twice to either use Touch ID (on my old 2017 MBP) or approve with my Apple Watch. Why? The second prompt does go away after some time on my Watch when using my new MacBook Pro, but on my old one it keeps asking for Touch ID on the Touch Bar even though I've long been logged in. Wouldn't be so annoying if I didn't have to log in ever time I open the website.

MacBook Pro Touch ID suddenly stopped working The Touch ID on my MacBook Pro laptop has suddenly stopped working. OS is 12.7.1. I have cleaned the Touch ID sensor, I have re-entered my fingerprints, but it still asks me to input my password. Sometimes I get a prompt that my Apple Watch unlock for my laptop and Touch ID won't work unless I enter my password. So what is the point of Touch ID? Is there a new setting enabling Touch ID that I have missed? I've gone into the Touch ID preferences and don't see anything else that I should be doing. It does this not just to unlock my laptop but also on every website where I would need to enter a passcode.

Apple Watch to approve Safari Password autofill? I have dual monitor setup, with the MacBook Pro laptop closed, thus I have no access to the built-in keyboard, thus the Touch ID fingerprint reader. I use my Apple Watch to unlock the Mac, and approve some requests (like unlock the changes in system preferences). That's all good. The only thing missing is the ability to auto fill passwords on Safari with Touch ID. Is there a way to do this? thanks!

Touch ID not working on websites Up until recently, opening a website for which I previously saved a login, a popup would show that contained the login id . Pressing Touch ID would recall and fill the used ID and password. That has stop working. No popup. All logins have to be done manually. The Touch ID to unlock the Macbook's screen still works correctly. Looking at password setting for a particular website, it says 'Never Saved' which I know is false. If I put in a password for that 'Never Saved' website, I do not get the prompt to save the password. Everything is turned ON in the Settings > Touch ID & Password screen
