Mail app is not working on my iPhone 15 after iOS 18.5 update

My mail app no longer works after the iOS18.5 update. I uninstalled and re-installed and it attempts to open (blank white screen) and crashes every time. Was this intentional? Does Apple know that I use my phone for business and this is crippling? Why don't they test these updates before releasing and costing me a lot of money? iPhone 15 running iOS 18.5

So earlier, I had posted that they had me delete the email account from settings then add the email again. It didn’t seem to work—even after a restart. Later, last night I restarted again, and since then, all has been good. (Hope I didn’t just jinx it.) If you want to try it, be sure you know your email password. Go settings—>apps (very bottom of page)—>mail—> mail accounts. Delete the account, then add again. Hope it works.

Same issues here with iPhone 12 and iOS 18.5. A reboot helped briefly, but frozen mail screen started again within a few times checking my mailboxes. I am at least able to download new mail after turning off WiFi and going into airplane mode. I then went back to mail app which prompted me for a network connection, turned airplane mode off and WiFi back on. Not a long term solution, but a bit better than the repeated reboots.

My wife's iPhone11 has this issue and this from SimplyMac seems to have resolved for now at least !

1. FIX AUTOCORRECT AND KEYBOARD ISSUES

  • Go to Settings > General > Keyboard, disable features like “Auto-Correction” or “Smart Punctuation” as a temporary workaround.
  • Add custom text replacements (Settings > General > Keyboard > Text Replacement) to manually override broken corrections.
