iPhone camera automatically rotates almost all photos (wrongly!!!)

Nearly every photo taken with my iPhone 13 Pro camera ends up being automatically rotated afterwards with the WRONG orientation (as in, not the orientation seen on my screen when the photo was shot). These are usually photos taken with the camera pointed downwards at a subject, but it happens sometimes with other photos also. They're almost always sideways or upside down, but they were not such when taking the photo. It is tedious and time-consuming having to manually rotate almost every photo back to the correct orientation. This never occurred with my older iPhone 6. Whose dumb idea was it to muck things up and override peoples' photos, taking time away from their personal lives to go and fix practically every photo taken with an alleged "smart" phone? I have auto-rotation disabled on my iPhone (it's disorientating most of the time, having the display rotate just because my phone shifts a little bit). I have Live Photos disabled in the Camera app (it's a nuisance and a dumb "feature" in my opinion). I have the latest iOS. How do I STOP the iPhone from automatically rotating almost every photo it takes?

I take photos in both portrait and landscape orientation, and in both cases the photo is often rotated and needs to be corrected afterwards. In my opinion, a photo should be stored in the same orientation as it appeared on the screen within the Camera app when taking the photo, no automatic post-processing of rotation. Otherwise, it's like writing a book in English, taking it to the publisher, and the pages are printed in Chinese instead of English.
