No, iOS 16 is never coming to iPhone 6s. iOS 15.8.4 is the highest it can go. If you need iOS 16, then it's time to retire your now 10 year old iPhone and buy a new iPhone.

Sorry but your iPhone 6s cannot run and will never run iOS 16. The furthest it can go is iOS 15.8.4.

To answer the question in the title ("How do I update iOS 16 on iPhone 6s?"), you do not update to iOS 16 on an iPhone 6s.

The iPhone 6s ran iOS 9 when it first came out, more than nine and a half years ago. Many iPhones only get five major iOS updates. The iPhone 6s got six major iOS updates and can run the latest release of iOS 15 (currently 15.8.4) – but it will never run iOS 16 or higher.
