Portable monitors for Mac mini 4

Has anyone used a portable monitor with the MacMini M4 you'd be happy to recommend, and how did you connect it? I imagine you'd need a mini port display to connect the Mac mini to the monitor and I'm just wondering where you'd get one that would ensure compatibility between a NON apple monitor and the Mac mini. Is an adapter necessary?

Portable monitor compatible with M4 Pro Macs connected via Thunderbolt 5 I recently purchased an Arzopa 2.5k 16" portable display for use with a M4 Pro Mac mini (as a secondary monitor). I had hoped that I would be able to connect it via one USB-C cable to the thunderbolt 5 port on the back of the Mac mini. However it appears, as discussed in this thread, that the Thunderbolt 5 ports on the M4 Pro Macs do not support portable monitors. To be clear, the monitor does work if connected via HDMI and an external power source (USB-C cable to power outlet or one of the ports on the Mac mini). But it does not work as I intended, with just one cable. Note this is only a problem on Thunderbolt 5 macs - these monitors all seem to work with one USB-C cable connected to Thunderbolt 4 enabled Mac computers. I have been encouraged by another forum user to create a new thread here to ask for suggestions for portable monitors that do work with Thunderbolt 5 Macs. If you know of any, please provide make and model information. I am in the UK so would ideally purchase it on Amazon UK. Many thanks.

Monitor to pair with Mac Mini On the verge of buying a fully equipped Mac Mini (to replace my 7 year old iMac Pro.) However, a monitor will be required. I know Apple has an off-the-planet model for a mind numbing $1,800. A monitor more than half the price of the computer? Also, don't need that high of rez/quality. I'm going to guess that I can't really ask this question here, but could someone please make some suggestions based on experience or maybe a site(s) that discusses/suggests solutions? I really appreciate the openness and helpfulness of people here, and thanks.

Since the M4 Mac mini has HDMI 2.1 and Thunderbolt 4/USB-C ports, you should have a number of choices for picking a monitor.. You won't need a Mini DisplayPort adapter — that’s more of a legacy port used on older Macs or older monitors.

Here are some of those choices for you to consider:
