How do I get a refund for an accidental charged $119.99 for trial app on iPhone?

I’ve attempted to get a refund on a program that was a “trial” I clicked the weekly trial, and was instantly charged $119.99, for virus protection. I’ve jumped through so many hopes, and keep getting denied, this money is literally for survival, and a million dollar company can’t refund me? For an honest mistake or misunderstanding. I’ve had an iPhone since the 4th generation and talk so highly of this company, but WOW how this is being handled is so infuriating and no one but apple has control over this refund, norton can’t help, and I’m sure my bank won’t refund random money like that. Anyone have any suggestions or tips? I’m not stopping till it’s back into my account.

I understand you were charged instantly, but did the subscription appear in your Settings from that link where you did have the option to cancel it after it was charged? Just trying to figure out the source of the charge as Developers can now link outside the app to manage the subscriptions themselves.

When you clicked the weekly trial, did the standard authorization screen come up where you have to double click the side button with the free trial period and subscription start date showing on the screen? Free trials cannot be used more than once and the app may have had a free trial button, but that trial should not have appeared when you double clicked the side button, if you had used one previously.

You can certainly dispute the charge with your bank for a fraudulent transaction. You may need to add a new payment method to your account after the charge is disputed as Apple may no longer consider that a valid payment method.

Well, regardless of the situation, it doesn’t appear apple is going to help, nor wants to every employee seems to have compassion, and understanding. But are bound to the rules of apples policies, norton can’t help since it was purchased via apple aka a third party. Sigh hopefully the bank can help, seeing other stories on here of other victims to this charge, and run gig I don’t have high hopes here.

Oh wow that’s insane, even if it showed the trial, it could have been used prior?! I don’t recall that being used, but good info to know. Yeah apples denied it three times, the main two requested (AI) checked, then an actual advisory checked it and denied it. Sucks that I’ll have to try and have my bank dispute this, but lord what a nightmare. Million dollar company can’t refund something that obviously wasn’t intended. I can understand if my account had refunds, and attempted digital goods scams but yeah… just want my money back for an error

Yes, that is true for websites as well. On the iPhone, after you choose the free trial option, it should not appear on the authorization screen and only the subscription's start date and price should show before you authorize the transaction by double clicking. On websites, such as Hulu or any that offer a free trial, you can go to the site and see a free trial option, but once you choose that and enter your login details, you will see the free trial will not show on the payment screen and the only thing it will show is the subscription if you had previously used a free trial.
