Apple TV Not Marking Watched Shows (Solution)

For a while now, after I watched a show, Apple TV would not mark the show as watched. There are a number of discussions on this issue (discussions have been closed by Apple) and I finally figured out the reason.

My kids have gotten a little older so I turned on restrictions in the settings to block inappropriate shows. It seems that this stops the app from marking the shows as watched. As soon as I turned restrictions off, I can manually mark a show as watched or after completing a show it is marked as watch.

Apple needs to fix this issue.
