Does iPad have a hard drive or location where all installed programs and files are stored?

An iPad does not have an internal Hard Disk - but instead uses solid-state storage.


iOS/iPadOS does not expose its filesystem in the manner to which you may be accustomed with some other computer operating systems. iOS/iPadOS employs a sandboxed system architecture - where Apps maintain their own "private" file storage. While a gross simplification, this arrangement ensures that an App can only access fioes and data that belongs to it - and cannot access other sandboxed areas of the filesystem that belong to other Apps and services.
