How do I prevent apps from playing audio through CarPlay and switch to a Bluetooth source?

I have a 2024 Sienna, IOS 18.5, and use a wireless smart box for Bluetooth CarPlay connect.

is there anyway to turn off apps from connecting to this device and switch my audio source (when in apps with videos) to smartbox?

I want my Apple Maps on my screen with directions, but not the audio of videos from FB playing through car speakers.

No.

The entire point of CarPlay is to keep you from messing around with your phone when you're supposed to be driving.

You've got no business trying to watch videos while you're driving.

Please tell us where you live and what kind of car you drive so we can stay as far away from you as possible when you're on the road.

I agree but my van is the family van and Bluetooth’s to my phone. So when my husband is driving it is safe for me to be on my phone and would like to without the whole car hearing my videos. That’s why I would like to be able to shut it off. Not because I’m driving. Yes I can just deactive the bluetooth. Just didn’t know if I could stop it from switching my car source everytime. So not a fan of your reply. Sorry! I didn’t write in detail a story and just asked a simple question. As usual someone takes it a different direction.
