How do I remove an outdated email from my App Store account for app updates?

every time i need to update an app, my app store asks for an email, i no longer use, yet when i make a purchase for the first time, it never asks. i'm logged into my gmail account, but when i have to update an app, it asks for my yahoo instead, and says the account is locked out, i wait a few days and get the updated password, and account recovery steps are followed, only to get the same problem, of incorrect password to an account i'm not even using, like its been going on for a while now, and it is affecting my work as i use this device mostly for my office work, how do i find the email that is being used so i can removed it from being accessed by my app store

You have previously downloaded those apps you want to update with a different Apple Account. You will not be able to update those apps without providing the credentials used when they were downloaded. The solution is to delete those apps and download them again with your current Apple Account. Apps are always linked to the Apple Account that was used to download them.

Hey there,

Apps downloaded with an old Apple ID (your Yahoo email) are tied to that ID for updates, even if you're signed in with a new ID (Gmail). To resolve this, delete the affected apps and re-download them using your current Apple ID. Go to Settings > [Your Name] > Media & Purchases to confirm you're signed in with your Gmail account. If the old ID still appears, sign out and back in with the correct ID. Be cautious, as deleting apps may cause data loss—check with app developers first.
