Can't see 'iOS 26 Public Beta' on iPhone settings

That's because iOS 26's Public Beta has not been released yet, and will come out next month. All the people posting about iOS 26 are the ones that are on the Developer Beta, but that should not be done on an in-use device.

Your friend installed the developers beta. The public beta is not available yet.

It hasn't been released yet. Apple hasn't announced an exact release time, but if they follow their normal pattern, it will probably drop in about 5 hours. 10:00 AM PDT.

If you have the iOS beta switch enabled then disable it, or if have an older iOS beta profile installed remove it, or have an add-on VPN app installed remove it, restart, and test again.

There's no issue, it's only for Developers currently.

Do you have a complete and current backup available already?

If not, start your preparations there, pending the release of macOS 26 today.

That backup is your recovery path, should the upgrade fail, or should important apps have issues.

Speaking of making more sense, give some thought to Apple's very strong recommendation to only install beta on a spare phone.

There are a lot of users posting here that wish they had.

This discussion is 10 days old now but my friend was able to install ios 26 and I am on the latest version of ios a device that according to apple.com is able to use ios 26 but I still sont see the beta update.

A thought to keep in mind.......Apple very strongly recommends that you install iOS 26 on a "spare phone"......not your everyday phone that you need to be predictable and reliable.

If you look around this support site, you will notice numerous requests from users about how to revert back to iOS 18.5. There must be a reason for this.

You would be very wise to pay very close attention to Apple's very strong recommendation that you only install the beta on a "spare" phone.......not on your phone that you use each day and expect to be dependable.

You don't. An iPhone 7 can't run anything higher than 15.8.4, what makes you think you could run iOS 26?

If you want to run a higher version of the operating system, you will need to purchase a newer phone.
