A badge has appeared on my Settings-app. Normally it means there’s a new update ready to install. Now it’s unclear to me, there’s no update, but how do i find out why there’s a badge? Same on ipad as well as iphone.

it does not just mean an update it's a notification in general about something in your settings needs your attention
it could be anything from it wanting to setup apple pay or faceID or ....
