Blue box with weird prompts on my iPhone screen, can’t enter passcode

I have a weird blue box scrolling around on myphone along with some boxes that pop up with weird options of how to scroll or select. I did a soft reset and now I cannot put my passcode in to open phone. WhenI triple click side button switch control does seem to be selected but I am unable to select anything on the screen. The blue box and other boxes that pop up seem to acknowledge my touch but I cannot select anything. I cant get into phone to open setting etc.

You have turned on switch control. It's an accessibility feature. It is not something that can typically be enabled accidentally...

Set up and turn on Switch Control on iPhone - Apple Support

Try telling Siri to turn off switch control.

If that doesn't work, try this:

  1. Triple click the side button so that the accessibility shortcut comes up.
  2. Switch Control should now scan through the items in the list with a blue cursor. When the cursor lands on Switch Control, tap on the screen. This should bring up the switch control menu as you mentioned.
  3. Switch Control should now be scanning through the different rows in the menu. When the first row is highlighted (the one with the tap action), tap again on the screen.
  4. Switch Control should now be scanning through the items in the first row. When the focus is on the tap action, tap the screen one more time. This should send a tap to the button and turn off Switch Control for you.
