How to Delete duplicate photos on iPhone 15
It Takes me a long time to find a particular photo, and I’m using a lot of memory on my iPhone 15 because of the many duplicates I have on my phone.
iPhone 15 Pro, iOS 18

It seems to me that having a picture in lots of different places would make it easier to find. So, what are you meaning by "duplicates?"
We usually mean "duplicate" to be different files of the same picture. "Same picture" might be "exactly the same in every way" or "looks the same, but has a different title or resolution or something." The "looks the same" duplicates are often called "similars."
If you see the same picture in two different Albums or Collections like Trips or Memories, then they are not necessarily duplicates. Albums are just lists of pictures to see together, and a single picture can appear on many different lists without taking up any more space. So, if by "duplicates" you mean you see the same picture in different albums and collections, don't worry. And, since they're all the same picture, if you delete one from the Library, they will "all" be deleted, since they're all the same file.
Using the Info window, you can see what albums a particular picture is in.
Photos has a special Duplicates view in Utilities
that actually finds pictures that look alike but are different files taking up space. Some may be exact, and some may be similar, so you have to be careful before deleting. That's what markwmsn's suggested link refers to.
