photos library out of order on new iphone 16 pro, but not on macbook pro

I have been scanning old photos and adjusting the image date in photos on my macbook pro. As soon as the image date is changed, the order in my photos library corrects to the right chronological order as it should. However, on my new iphone 16 pro, these recently scanned images are showing up in the Library in the incorrect order as if the date had not been adjusted. Is there a way to get the iphone library to display in chronological order based on the adjusted image dates?
