How to fix constant Camera and Photos app crashes while editing/cropping photos on iPhone 16 with iOS 18?

The Camera and Photos app on my iPhone 16 constantly crashes, especially while editing / cropping photos, resulting in me losing any changes made or photos altogether. This happened with my last phone and continues to happen on my new phone. I am on the latest iOS 18, and have taken my phone to the Genius Bar twice and they weren't of much help. All they did was "run diagnostics" and claimed everything passed. They only recommended that I back up and wipe my phone, which I did, but the issue comes back after a few days.

Have you tried a forced restart?

This is different from a simple Power Off. I had to continue holding the button down past the "slide to power off" message, and then I released the button only after the Apple Logo appeared indicating a re-start.

It sounds like the Apple guys let you know that there's nothing wrong with your phone's hardware, which is pretty valuable information. So it seems that you have a crazy app that's messing up your phone. When you started over, did you re-load non-Apple apps?

I'd get rid of all the non-standard apps and, if that fixes it, then add them back one at a time to see what they do.
