Recommendation for simple video-trimming software on new MacBook Air

My video-editing needs are not great. I have the need to trim videos – and mostly nothing more. For many years, I have been using the free MPEG Streamclip for this purpose.

It is an old app, and is no longer supported/updated. It works on my old desktop under Mohave. But I now have a new MacBook Air (latest/current OS version), and it does not work. Not surprising. I am looking for an alternative. Free is nice, a small price is no problem.

Every time, however, that I download an app from the App Store from its video-editing offers, I get apps that do ”everything” – except the simple task of trimming videos.

Can someone recommend an alternative to MPEG Streamclip for trimming videos?

For MP4/MOV/M4V files, QuickTime Player can do trimming (Edit menu).

For short videos in other formats, I’ll convert to MP4 before trimming in QTP, if I have to.
