Just received this text on my iPhone. is this phishing?

Apple Approval Notice

We have noticed that your Apple iCloud id was recently used at "APPLE STORE - CA" for $143.95, paid by Apple Pay Pre Authorization. Also some suspicious sign in request and apple pay activation request detected. That looks like suspicious to us. In order to maintain the security and privacy of your account we have placed those request on hold. Your Photos, Data, Bank Information and Cards are at risk. If NOT you? talk to an Apple Representative. Failing may lead to auto debit and charge will not be reversed. Call +18********4  immediately to cancel this charge.

  1. Any such messages are always, always scams. Apple will never send such messages for any reason whatsoever, and your Apple Account / iCloud is not used when using Apple Pay at all. Apple Pay requires biometric authentication, so unless someone has access to your iPhone or Apple Watch they cannot use Apple Pay as if they were you at all.
  2. There is no such thing as "Apple Pay pre-authorization". Charges through Apple Pay either pass or are declined. There is no in-between step.
  3. You can forward the messages to reportphishing@apple.com, ignore them, and delete them.
