The phone is asking for my wife’s Apple ID credentials. I put them in but they return an invalid. I tried using mine. Same thing, invalid. I can access them on my MacMini M2 so I know they are valid. Right now I’m holding. $1,000 paper weight. Any ideas out there?

Original Title: I16 replaced due to battery problem. New phone won’t recognize any existing Apple ID I throw at it.

Try doing a force restart on the new iPhone first. Sometimes when you’re restoring or setting up a new phone, it can glitch with the Apple ID authentication. To do that, just press and quickly release the volume up button, then the volume down button, and hold the side button until the Apple logo pops up. If that still doesn’t work, try signing out of iCloud on your Mac or any other device before trying again on the iPhone. Sometimes the system gets confused when multiple devices are signed in at the same time.
