How to fix Apple TV streaming errors on laptop?

Just opened account, free 6 month trial with EE. Using laptop to stream. Watched a few shows but every so often it wouldn't play an episode but stop after the trailer and say 'error occured'. No reason. Now can't watch any more eps of a show but can watch others. What's going on?

if it was me and I were using the appletv app from windows app store then I would check if I also had the issue using their webclient https://tv.apple.com/

and the other way around

other steps I would try to troubleshoot was to see if I could access it on other devices such as smartphones or tablets or other computers to verify your laptop was not the culprit
